The WOW calendar includes both public events and events restricted to WOW Yacht Club members. Public events have an asterisk, do not require membership in a WOW affiliated club, and are are promoted in our public WOW email newsletter (click here to sign up). Details on private events like the Supper Series are sent to yacht club members by their WOW representative via private email - check with your yacht club WOW rep to be sure you are on their email list, which is separate from the WOW public email sent via Mailchimp.

Riverside, CT - private residence. Invitations are sent by WOW club reps to their club members. Women members of WOW affiliated clubs and 'friends' of WOW are welcome, by invitation only. Check with your Club’s WOW representative to make sure that you are on their internal WOW email list, or you won’t receive the invitation.

North U Trim and Tactics seminar at Stamford Yacht Club, CT. In this 2-hour seminar, Bill Gladstone, head of North U will tour a selection of Trim & Tactics topics : Starting Tips, Boat-on-Boat Tactics, Upwind Trim in Puffy Conditions, Symmetric and Asymmetric Spinnaker Trim, Spinnaker Handling, Downwind Covering Tactics (& Escapes!) and your questions. Coastal Safety at Sea for WOMEN, full-day workshop hosted by Cruising Club of America (CCA), at Roger Williams University Bristol, Rhode Island. Led by Sheila McCurdy of US Sailing and Mark Lenci of CCA, the workshop will enhance US Sailing’s online Coastal Safety at Sea course (to be completed online prior to the hands-on workshop and included in the course price). $150 for non National Women’s Sailing Association members, 1 year NWSA membership included in price. www.womensailing.org.

Lady Liberty Regatta - Manhattan Yacht Club

Top women sailors race in front of the Statue of Liberty in J24s. Hosted by the Manhattan Yacht Club & sponsored by the New York Harbor Sailing Foundation. The purpose of the event is to support and promote amateur women’s sailing in the United States by bringing together top women sailors. Regatta details.

The Solstice One Design Ideal 18 & Lasers Regatta at Old Greenwich Yacht Club. For the Ideal 18 class, the Solstice Regatta is the first of a three regatta series competing for the Sally Finkbeiner Memorial Trophy given by the YRALIS. As of Feb 24, 2019 there is no information available. Check back at www.ogyc.org.

WOW EAST | WEST Supper Series Finale!

Racing followed by dinner. For sailors, spectators, & diners. Invitations and more information will be sent by WOW reps to their club sailors.


 

Saturday, July 13*

Queens Cup

Queens Cup (raced in Ideal 18s) and the Girls Championships will be held at Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridgeport, CT - with spinnakers. This event is one of the qualifying regattas for the Watson Trophy. Registration & SIs here.

Woman at the Helm Race. Double handed, open invite. YRA members w/current PHRF rating. Held at Saugatuck Yacht Club in Westport, CT.


 

Sun July 14*

Larchmont Race Week, Ideal Regatta #2 (coed) at Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, NY. Ideal 18s are racing on Sunday, July 14. This regatta is part of YRA scoring for the Sally Finkbeiner Award, Ideals with spinnakers. Register on Yacht Scoring here.  


 

Saturday, July 20*

The Gillespie Women’s Regatta

The Gillespie is raced in Ideal 18s and is held at Norwalk Yacht Club, in CT, with spinnakers. This regatta is one of the qualifiers for the Watson Trophy. Register here.

***NOT BEING HELD in 2019*** Pequot Women's Ideal Invitational

This popular regatta will return in 2020. The Pequot is raced in Ideal 18s and is held at Pequot Yacht Club in Southport, CT, with spinnakers.

YRALIS Ideal Championships - COED - held at Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT. Two day event with spinnakers

Larchmont Yacht Club Ideal Regatta #3, COED, with spinnakers.


 

Thurs, September 12

First annual WOW Sailing, Supper & Overnight at Stonington Harbor Yacht Club, Stonington, CT. Invites to be sent by WOW club reps.


 

Sat, September 14*

Mendez Women’s Regatta

The Mendez is sailed in Ideal 18s at Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, NY. Last year 18 boats participated! This regatta is unique in that there are NO spinnakers. The Mendez is a qualifier for the Watson Trophy.


 

Sat, September 21*

Ideal 18 Interclub Championships - COED - at Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT, with spinnakers.


 

Sat/Sun, September 28 & 29*

The Lorna Wittlesey Women’s Regatta

The Lorna consists of two Ideal 18 events - on Saturday, 9/28 there’s a regatta (with spinnakers) followed by a dinner. On Sunday, 9/29, there is a Distance Race (with spinnakers) followed by brunch.


 

October 4-7

US Sailing Championship of Champions at Stamford Yacht Club, CT. There will be spectating opportunities.
